Coordination and provision of simultaneous interpretation services for the EMCDDA

European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA)

The EMCDDA is one of the EU decentralised agencies and was established by Council Regulation (EEC) No 302/93 of 8.2.1993 which was recast in the form of Regulation (EC) No 1920/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12.12.2006.
The EMCDDA is the central reference point for drug information in the European Union. Based in Lisbon, its role is to provide the EU and its Member States with objective, reliable and comparable information on drugs and drug addiction. More information about the Agency and its structure and activities can be found on the EMCDDA website: http://www.emcdda.europa.eu
This procurement procedure will result in the conclusion of a framework service contract for the coordination and provision of simultaneous interpretation services mainly for the meetings of the EMCDDA management board, executive committee and budget committee which require interpretation from and into 4 'active' languages: French, English, German and the language of the Chair, currently Portuguese and into 2 other 'passive' official EU languages on a rotation basis by protocol order, in principle to cover all of them. Issues related to drugs and drug addiction, as well as European institutions are the main subject matters of the meetings.
